My Favorite Cover

favorite
"the discovery of discoveries: Emma Ferrer, Audrey Hepburn's 19 year-old granddaughter, in her first fashion session. one made even more special given the cover was photographed by Michael Avedon, the grandson of Richard Avedon. The cover was a global hit: drawling more than 6 million hit visitors to harpers bazaar, com and generating more than 500 million media impressions."

i liked this cover because it is simple and not all cluttered up with a bunch of words, they just explained what this magazine is about in 4 simple words. what also made this cover my favorite was the way the title kinda interacted with the picture, i also like how in the background of the picture theres nothing distracting the viewer from the main idea which is the lades outfit. it won't make you question what the main idea of the magazine is.

7.Made her boobs smaller
8.Made ger hair longer
9.Made her waist thinner

4.I don't think it is ethically acceptable to make changes like this to a persons appearance because they made really big changes to their body and face if they were just going to erase a blemish or something like that it would have been ok but making their body completely different is not ok because they don't really look like that at all.

6.The changes that are ok to do are like blemishes or something really small that you might not like but not huge changes to how skinny you are.

7.i think the difference between fashion photography and photojournalism is photojournalism is news  and events that are happening that we should remember 7 fashion photography is more of just fake girls that have photoshopped bodies and are modeling clothes.

8.each form of photography is different some of it you don't need to change or do any editing but some other forms of photography would be almost like required to make changes for example photo shoots.

9.i think you are showing us these three videos because you wanted us to see how people edit and completely change how a person looks in pictures and makes them look ''perfect''

10.because i think mostly girls have these type of insecurities and issues of wanting to look perfect and they aren't satisfied with their body and neither is society so they change it.

Self Portrait And Portraits Part 1

3 Tips
- Experiment with lighting; another element of randomness that you can introduce to your portraits is the way you light them. there are almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to using lights in portraits.
- Take a series of shots; switch your camera into 'burst' or 'continuous shooting' mode and fire off mor than one shot at a time.
-introduce movement; making your subject move, by keeping your subject but having an element in the scene around them move, by moving your camera(or its lens to achieve a zoom burst)

environmental portrait examples.

i liked how it showed what he really likes to do/ or his job, and it shows where he usually is when taking pictures.

I picked this picture because it shows her actual work environment and where she is most of the time doing what she like (drawing/tattooing)

Photography Self Portrait
i really liked this portrait because it involves movement from the wind and made it look very dark and scary.

i liked this picture also because it had some movement to where it made it look like she was making 2 different faces.

Casual portrait
i picked this picture because i like how the sun kinda gets into the picture and it really shows this part of her face.

i liked this one because it showed almost her full body and it looks very natural.

Self portrait
For my self portrait i want to shoot one of my classmates(clarissa) and if we are shooting at school i would maybe want to take pictures by where there is a lot of flowers or out side in the courtyard and i wanna try to capture movement somehow or just take a series of action shots to see which one is best.

love and loss warm-up

1.) I felt happy in the first couple of pictures and it started getting sadder as you scrolled down but it was still really romantic and cute how he decided to do that.
2.)i think the comment meant that even though this is what ended up happening they still had good times with each other when they were going through this.
3.)I don't think i would have thought about doing this but i would.
4.) i would tell Angelo that what he did was a great way to always remember her.

Abandoned Theme Parks

1. i would want to go take pictures of the six flags in new orleans because it looks like they're are more things to take pictures of there and theirs a lot of characters that i think would be cool to take pictures of.

2.

3.
- Haunted places
- haunted asylum
- abandoned shopping malls
- circus's
- abandoned hospitals

4.

5. i would want to take pictures at a haunted asylum because it would be cool to capture creepy things and make the person looking at the picture feel scare and creeped out by the picture and i could find weird things in the asylum and also capture how it was treated by all the crazy people that have been there.

6.i would just bring my camera and it would be hard to sneak in.

Great black and white photographers part 3

1. I really liked William Klein's work because he takes pictures of exciting things and almost all his work is like from older times when people dressed certain way that was really cool and interesting.I also like how his pictures aren't perfect like they'll have a flaw sometimes but sometimes the flaw is what makes the picture good.

2.First picture
- i see a well dressed classy woman giving water to a clean white bird from a fancy glass.
- i smell the birds clean wings and the woman's perfume
- i hear the bird swallow its water very quietly.
- i taste the refreshing water the woman is giving the thirsty bird.
- i feel the birds soft weightless wings and the woman's gentle hands.

second picture
- i see a big crowd of people wearing costume like clothes and them rushing to go somewhere.
- i smell all those people crowded and rushing.
- i hear the chatter of the people.
- i taste
- i feel the soft fabric of the woman's black long dress.

3. i would want to make a poster with all my favorite pictures by my photographer and with a description on why i like those pictures.

Africa

I thought it was really smart for him to take pictures of these animals in their state of being so we can see how they are living in their habitat and how we should help them, because we don't see pictures of these animals often so we don't give much thought about how their environment really is.

This was my favorite photo because he captured the elephant at a really good angle where everything looked so perfect cause you could see the elephant with its trump in the water and nothing important got cut off.

I think the rule he used in this picture was avoiding mergers because he could have cut out the water and part of its nose but he didn't so it made it a better image, the background also makes it a better image but it does that without having anything too distracting in the photo.

He used a Pentax 67.This is important because he said he didn't use a lens to zoom in he just wanted to get up close to really capture the animal.

His reason for taking these photos is he wanted to capture these animals in their natural state of being and not being wild & in action.

He hoped to encourage people to donate a little bit of money to help and protect these animals and their habitat.

"This coming year is going to be the most bleak of all with the terrible drought that East Africa is currently experiencing, and the explosion in poaching as a result of the renewed Chinese demand for ivory."

Mural project

1. one theme that we could take here at school is pictures of flowers/plants.
2. i think we should stick to one type of camera to take the pictures so they won't all be a different picture qualities, i would prefer to use the cameras so we can get a better picture quality.
3.i would want to put this mural project in the halls.

Funny Captions

Grandpa and son go skydiving, but grandpa only wanted to go cloud watching and son had a different idea on how they would go cloud watching.

4 old people trying to take a nice group picture while sitting on a bench.
But then you realize theirs always that one childish person that ruins the picture.
old man riding a motorcycle naked. He relized he had forgot to clock out of work when he had already taken all his clothes off for his long bath and was lazy to put his clothes back on.

academic shoot

1.The rule i followed in this picture was avoiding mergers
2.The subject of the picture are the two girls in the center working on their art project.
3. i think it is clear what the subject is in the picture because now theirs no more extra people in the picture like before
4.I wouldn't have changed it.

1.The rule for this picture is rule of thirds
2.The subject of this photo is the girl in the middle working on her english paper.
3.yes i think people would be able to tell what the subject in the picture is because
4.I wouldn't have changed it.

1. i think the rule for this is balance
2.The subject for this photo is the teacher and the student that looks like he's praying and
the rest of the students staring at him during a class discussion.
3.in this picture it might be a little harder to tell what the subject  is but i think once you look at it for a while you can see what it is because all the students and teacher are focused on that one student.
4.i would have zoomed in more and took it from a different angle to get a better picture of the subject.

1. i think this would be avoiding mergers
2.The subject of this photo is the two boys trying to finish their art project.
3.yes i think you would be able to tell what the subject is because both the boys are almost the only people in the picture.
4.I would have changed it.

Aperture, Shutter speed & ISO

Photo taken with aperture of F16                       Photo taken with aperture of F 2.8

1.We relate the aperture to the human eye

2.The smaller the aperture the larger the f stop is, the higher the aperture the smaller the f stop is.

3.When it is a smaller F number it makes the main object look closer and more in focus by making the background more blurry, When it is a higher F number it makes everything in focus and doesn't really give it depth

Photo with high shutter speed

Photo with low shutter speed

1.a) a booth in the middle of the yard near the tree, high shutter speed
b) a food booth under one of the big red awnings, high shutter speed
c)The stars performance inside the gym, high shutter speed
d)Students dancing near the center of the courtyard, high shutter speed
e)people streaming in from the front doors, Low shutter speed
f)The basketball booth where students are shooting basketballs at a hoop, high shutter speed

WITH LOW LIGHTING
a)Low shutter speed
b)Low shutter speed
c)High shutter speed
d)High shutter speed to get it clear, low shutter speed for blurry but brighter lighting
e)Low shutter speed
f)low shutter speed
2.the three settings regarding shutter speed are
Aperture priority which the camera automatically sets the shutter speed.
Shutter priority where the camera automatically sets the aperture.
Manual mode is when you set both the shutter speed and aperture.
ISO 3200

ISO 200

1.Advantages to having a higher iso at a sporting even is you get more light into an image.
2. The suggestions the author gave about using low iso where to always use it when you have plenty of light to have a better quality picture.
3.The suggestions the author gave about using high iso where to use it when there is not enough lighting but be sure to expect noise in you're picture.

The Camera

1.Inside a dark room a tiny hole is created in one wall, through the hole light is focused and the outside scene is projected upside down on the opposite wall.
2.The glass lens made by Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens
3. A glass lens, dark box and film.
4.Something they have in common is the way they work, light passes through the lens and then into the camera then exposes the film and creates a photograph
5. Digital cameras capture images with a electronic sensor called a CCD.
6. When you are using Auto mode the camera controls flash and exposure but when using program mode you can control the flash and some other settings.
7.Portrait mode is used to blur out the background and it does this by using the fastest available lens setting.
8.Sports mode is used to freeze motion it will do this by using the highest shutter speed.
9.The half press is to tell the camera that it is almost ready to take a picture and to get prepared to take it.
10.This means that there is no flash, and you would use this when you want more natural lighting.

Academic Shoot Preview

The Story
The story to this picture i think is that we should do something kind for those in need more often.

Action And Emotion
This picture to me has the most action and emotion, the action part of this picture is all the pieces of the ice flying everywhere and the emotion is the two girls reaction to seeing all the ice break apart in the air.
Filling the frame
The frame is filled by all the kids holding the table that has smoke from dry ice

Photo Manipulation And Ethics

The article was talking about how many photographers have been fired for manipulating a picture that shouldn't have been manipulated.Sometimes the picture is manipulated in the most unethical way and sometimes it is was changed but it wasn't changed very good and people could tell you photoshopped it.

I think this picture was the most unethical picture out of all of them because well first it obviously looks photoshopped and why do this just to make the school look diverse to me this seems kinda rude  to colored people to just stick them into a picture that they weren't even really in and then say that they're school is diverse.

This picture to me seems to be the least unethical picture because all the magazine lied about is how close the mountains are and their probably are mountains that actually are that close so they weren't lying about much.
